Sheriff Tim Wright graduates from leadership institute

COLUMBUS—The Polk County Board of Commissioners recognized and congratulated Sheriff Tim Wright this week. 

The board of commissioners met Monday and recognized Wright on graduating from the North Carolina Sheriff’s Association Leadership Institute. 

Commissioners said the institute is one of a kind in the nation and begins when sheriffs are elected to office. 

There have been more than 30 sheriffs across North Carolina who graduated last week. 

The institute meeting was held in New Bern.
