County decides to put center under direction of the sheriff
POLK CUNTY—Polk County is restructuring its 911 communication center by deciding to put the direction of the center under the office of the sheriff.
The county also recently hired Jeremy Gregg to be the communication center director.
Gregg is a lifelong resident of Polk County and has experience as a communications professional. He also serves as the Green Creek Volunteer Fire and Rescue Chief and will continue in that role.
The sheriff’s office said they look forward to working with Director Gregg and the rest of the Polk County emergency services community in ensuring the communications center reaches its full potential.
Gregg started his new position on July 1.
“I look forward to this new adventure,” Gregg said. “I’ve been involved in emergency services for 24 years and 911 for 18 years. In this combined effort between the county and the sheriff we strive to provide the best service to the emergency responders, law enforcement, citizens and visitors of Polk County.”
