Polk County continues free COVID-19 testing next week

POLK COUNTY—Polk County is continuing its free testing for COVID-19 next week at different locations throughout the county.

Next Tuesday and Wednesday the county is doing drive-thru testing for people with or without symptoms at no charge and no appointment necessary.

On Tuesday, June 30, the testing will be from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Saluda Fire Department, located at 199 Walnut St., Saluda.

On Wednesday the testing will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Polk County Middle School, located at 321 Wolverine Trl., Mill Spring.

The next Wednesday, July 8, testing will be offered from 4-6 p.m. at Wheat Creek Baptist Church, located at 131 Wheat Creek Ln., Rutherfordton.

The extended free testing will be done while supplies last.

Polk County began free testing a couple of weeks ago for people with or without symptoms. The county has been doing drive-up testing at the former jail in Columbus and at the health department for weeks now.
