Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

On May 30, 2020 Polk County Animal Control impounded a neglected 23 year old Miniature horse stallion named Old Spice. Animal Control had been aware of the horse and had to check on it multiple times since the fall of 2019. The horse was taken in under the care of Polk County Animal Control and Foothills Equine Rescue Assistance for rehabilitation and vet care and required some surgery.

Animal Control Officer, Patti Lovelace has since been in contact with Red Bell Run Equine Sanctuary in Columbus, NC and with their help has arranged for Old Spice to be transported to Hope Equine Rescue in Florida to finish out his rehabilitation and live out the remainder of his life. This is a happy ending for a little old guy who needed a second chance.
