County’s 3 deaths have been in Saluda zip code

POLK COUNTY—Polk County announced Wednesday it has 32 cases of the Coronavirus, with 9 people now out of isolation and 3 deaths.

All 3 deaths have occurred in the Saluda Township, according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.

There have been 2,310 laboratory-confirmed cases in North Carolina’s nursing homes, with 309 deaths from the state’s nursing homes.

Polk County is listed as having 2 nursing homes with outbreaks, according to the NCDHHS.

Henderson County is listed as having outbreaks in 3 nursing homes, while Rutherford County is listed as having zero outbreaks in nursing homes, but one outbreak in a residential care facility.

North Carolina as of Thursday morning had 15,816 laboratory-confirmed cases with 597 deaths. There have been 210,457 completed tests across the state, with 521 people currently hospitalized because of the virus.

The virus has been detected in 99 of the state’s 100 counties, with Avery County being the only county without any positive cases.

Buncombe County had 105 cases and 4 deaths as of Thursday morning; Henderson County had 250 cases and 30 deaths; Rutherford County had 154 case and 5 deaths and Transylvania remained at 7 cases and zero deaths, according to the NCDHHS.
