LANDRUM- The Landrum planning commission met on November 13 to discuss several new proposals.
One of the bigger items proposed during the meeting was a plan for new construction to add four new cottages to Landrum. Planning commission chair member, Bill Robinson, brought the proposal forward.
Robinson removed himself from the board, while the new construction was discussed among the other chair members, revoking his voting rights on the proposed item. His removal is due to the proposed item being a part of his ownership and property.
Robinson requested to subsidize the land next to Keystone storage in Landrum, which Robinson owns, to build four new cottages.
The remaining board members asked Robinson questions about the construction and what the cottages would look like as well as what purpose would the newly built homes serve.
Board members received handouts of information describing lot sizes, dimensions, interior and exterior plans and materials that would be used within the homes.
Robinson shared that the plan for the cottages to be used specifically as rental properties, located on Shamrock Avenue. They would be two bedroom, two bathroom homes.
The board made a motion to accept Robinson’s proposal and will be moving forward with the plans.
