24th annual Green Race to be held in Saluda Saturday

SALUDA—The Green River should be flowing nicely on Saturday for the 24th annual Green Race in Saluda. 

What is called the Super Bowl of whitewater kayaking, the Green Race will begin at 9 a.m. Events are planned for the race Friday and Saturday in Saluda. 

There is scheduled to be 180 racers and normally 2,000 spectators at the Green River Narrows. 

The race draws racers and spectators from around the world and has said to have been humbled Olympic medalists because of the iconic rapids in the Narrows.
