“The Book Club Play” opens next week at the TLT Workshop

Miss Lori Lee plays Jen in the upcoming version of Tryon Little Theater’s “The Book Club Play”. She’s a favorite with TLT audiences and is quite versatile, as you probably know if you saw her in “Mamma Mia” pursuing her man in the Greek Isles. She sang, she danced, she did just about everything in that show – sometimes in platform shoes and a sparkly jumpsuit!

In this play she’s a little more subdued – but she doesn’t need a sparkly jumpsuit or outrageous shoes to make you smile. With her expressive face and some of the statements that come out of her mouth, she’ll keep you laughing!

Written by Karen Zacarías who was recently hailed by American Theatre magazine as one of the most produced playwrights in the United States, this show is directed by Nancy Winker and boasts a wonderful cast of familiar faces, plus some new ones—new to TLT’s stage that is.

This is a comedy about books and the people who love them—but once the members of the book club become the subject of a documentary film, things turn a little unexpectedly chaotic.

“The Book Club Play” runs September 19-22, and again September 26-29 at the TLT Workshop in Tryon. Visit www.tltinfo.org or call 828-859-2466 for information.
