Porkchop makes return to Super Saturday

Faithful fans of Super Saturday will recognize the bit: the familiar fairy tale, all the right characters…but suddenly the characters are doing things that aren’t exactly the way Aesop or the Grimms told the story, and in fact, are much funnier than the original. Porkchop Productions is indeed returning to Super Saturday on March 16, this time with “RAPunzel”, and you can guess from the title what kind of musical genre you’ll hear your favorite long-haired heroine spouting.
Based in Aiken, SC, Porkchop got its start in 1991 at an outdoor festival, borrowing the nickname of a fellow actor for the name of their company. Since that time they have produced countless plays in schools, festivals, summer camps, and many other venues. The troupe is currently comprised of three actors, two of whom have been working together for more than twenty years. Children’s Theater Festival is pleased to bring back this crowd favorite.
In its 41st year, the event this year will honor the memory of Joe Wray, one of the founders of Super Saturday. For more information on location and performance time, visit our website, tryonsupersaturday.com, or follow us on Facebook.
