The eighth annual HeArts fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters will open at the Upstairs Artspace in Tryon with a reception from 5-7 p.m. Saturday.

Guests can view with the unique works of “heArt,” submitted by many area artists for the silent auction event.

Following the opening, Big Brothers Big Sisters will have volunteers at the gallery from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, when the public can visit Upstairs and bid on their favorite pieces. Bids will be accepted through the closing event, which will take place from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Jan. 26.

The Big Brothers Big Sisters organization is grateful to Upstairs Artspace for again hosting this benefit as well as for the organizations sponsoring it, representatives said.

Sponsorships to help offset costs of the event are still available, so that all proceeds from the HeArts auction will support the Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs for area youth.
