Foothills Music Club announces Young Musician Scholarship auditions in March 2019

The Foothills Music Club scholarship applications are now available for young musicians currently in ninth through 12th grade in Polk or Rutherford counties and Landrum.
A minimum of three years of study in instrumental or vocal music is required.
Students who meet requirements can obtain application forms and scholarship information from their school or private music teachers. These forms may also be requested by email to shackelford436@gmail.com or accessed for printing at foothillsmusicclub.org.
Application forms must be postmarked by Monday, Feb. 11, and mailed to Foothills Music Club, C/O Jeanette Shackelford, P.O. Box 791, Tryon, NC 28782.
Auditions for scholarships will be held Friday afternoon, March 1, and Saturday morning, March 2, in the choir room of the Tryon Presbyterian Church, 430 Harmon Field Road, Tryon.
First, second, and third place awards will be given. The scholarships are to be applied to the cost of lessons, purchase of music or repair/purchase of instruments.
In addition to receiving monetary recognition, winners will be expected to perform for the Foothills Music Club membership on April 11, 2019.
