Dance the afternoon away

A group of Polk Central Elementary students got a chance to unleash their inner dancer Tuesday afternoon, as Raleigh-based nonprofit Community In Motion dropped by the Mill Spring school. ComMotion’s Andre Avila, from Bogotá, Colombia, spent some time with the group after school, teaching the children some Latin dance moves. The organization, which provides low-cost dance workshops to people of all ages, is visiting several Polk County Schools buildings this week, as well as the Kiwanis Club of Tryon and The Meeting Place Senior Center in Columbus. Those interested in learning more about ComMotion may call Robin McCall at 919-526-0195 or may visit ComMotionNC.org. (Photos by Ted Yoakum/Tryon Daily Bulletin)
