Tryon’s Karen Mastruserio has joined the board of directors at Steps to HOPE.
Mastruserio is very excited to be involved and help advance the mission of ending domestic violence and sexual assault in the local area, she said.
Mastruserio moved to Tryon in 2013 from Cincinnati, Ohio. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati, and received her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Karen practiced law in Cincinnati for 27 years.
After retiring and moving to Tryon, Karen decided it was time to give something back to society and help those less fortunate than herself who find themselves in difficult circumstances. She wants to give her time and effort to Steps to HOPE, and hopefully make a difference in someone else’s life, she said.
Karen also volunteers with HERD (Helping Equines Regain Dignity) to help horses have a second chance at life.
Karen’s hobbies include yoga, piano and gardening.
