The Rotary Club of Tryon had a special visit from Caitlin Britton this week.

Britton is a 2016 graduate of Polk County High School, and will be a junior at Western Carolina University in the fall. During her senior year in high school, Britton received a Rotary Club of Tryon Foundation Scholarship to help her with college expenses.

During the meeting, Britton thanked the Rotary Club for the financial support it is providing to her. The money is very useful as she continues her studies at WCU, where she is majoring in psychology with a minor in education, she said. Britton plans to be an elementary school counselor after graduation.

The club was excited to see the scholarship being used by such an energetic young lady, members said. Britton’s father, Chuck, also attended the meeting
