Foothills Equestrian Nature Center will host a wine and paint class with local artist Joan MacIntyre from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 23.
MacIntyre will demonstrate a painting for the class as they paint along and complete their own artwork to take home. All supplies are included in the fee for the class.
Space is limited, and preregistration is required.
FENCE will also host a free family concert with Asheville-based band Tina and Her Pony at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 24, in the great room. The musical performance is free and open to the public, due to the Kirby Endowment at the Polk County Community Foundation.
Following the performance, refreshments will be served.
Indie Appalachian folk duo Tina & Her Pony was formed in 2010 in Asheville by Tina Collins and Quetzal Jordan. The duo is nationally known for its harmonies and instrumentation on cello, tenor ukulele and guitar.
Tina & Her Pony is currently promoting its latest release, “Champion,” which draws inspiration from and meditates on dreams, the subconscious and death.
For more information about these events or to register for the wine and paint class, people may call FENCE at 828-859-9021. FENCE is located at 3381 Hunting Country Road, Tryon.
