Unnamed heroes

Many of those “unnamed” workers during the mud and endless rain for nights and days have names of our own fantastic Tryon firefighters — as well as the surrounding firefighters from near and far.
We all think of them as FIREfighters, but we should know how dedicated they are — their hearts and bodies are willing daily to care for us or a lost senior, performing tasks like setting up a helicopter at Harmon Field to help a wounded person reach a trauma center quickly. There is so much more that firefighters do for each of us, those men and women in the red trucks.
We may never know their names, but they are ready to help us, in many ways, in all weather, all time of day and night.
Our hats go off for the firefighters.
