In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, with Judge Emily G. Cowan presiding, 74 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime:
Angela Summer Bruce was convicted of possession of marijuana paraphernalia and simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance. Bruce was fined $50 and court costs.
Hani S.M. Buirat was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 70 mph zone. Buirat was fined $50 and court costs.
Kerry Houston Cehen was convicted of assault on a female. Cehen was sentenced to one year supervised probation, a 26-week Steps To HOPE program and court costs.
Thomas Alan Fry was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Fry was sentenced to one day in jail, with credit for time served.
Nicholos John Morales was convicted of assault on a female. Morales was sentenced to 18 months supervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a 26-week Steps To HOPE program and court costs.
Travis Axson Morris was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Morris was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, one day in jail, a $100 fine and court costs.
Joseph Brandon Pauley was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Pauley was fined $40 and court costs.
Edward James Riddle was convicted of failure to appear. Riddle was sentenced to 10 days in jail with credit for time served.
Ashley Marie Steffens was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Steffens was fined $40 and court costs.
