Landrum officials take walking seriously

LANDRUM – Landrum Mayor and City Council members are challenging residents to join them for the “Walk with your Elected Official” event Saturday February 17. The event is free and gives residents a chance to start their New Year’s resolutions to get healthy.

The walk is a the nationwide HealthyCommunity50 event sponsored by the Aetna Foundation, American Public Health Association and National Association of Counties in Association with the Mary Black Health Foundation in Spartanburg County.

Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m. Landrum’s walk will begin at Brookwood Park on S. Bomar Ave. Those participating will walk around Brookwood Park. Walks are between one and two miles. In case of rain, the walk will be re-scheduled for Sunday, February 18 at 3 p.m.
