Recycling and sustainability for 2018 TIEC event

Published 3:15 pm Tuesday, October 24, 2017

As there will be a lot of trash generated by the thousands expected at this event, I think TIEC needs to tell Polk County how it plans to recycle and handle all the environmental damage that will potentially occur.

Thus far, we are an untouched (unpolluted) part of the country, and this one event can lead to permanent change here in an unwanted way. I don’t know if they have anything in place already. Or if they feel they need to be accountable for this looming landslide of trash on our roads and in our rivers and creeks. Not to mention the immense air pollution generated by vehicles of every description.

Thank you for addressing the environmental impact.
