POLK COUNTY DISTRICT COURT RESULTS

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, with Judge Pete Knight presiding, 95 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Silveria A. Avellaneda was convicted of rear seat belt violation. Avellaneda was fined $100.

Anna Upgang Bentzel was convicted of open burning when prohibited. Bentzel was fined $100 and court costs.

Kemar R. Brown was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Brown was fined $40 and court costs.

Joshua Forrest Carr was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Carr was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours in jail with credit for time served, a $50 fine and court costs.

Robert Virgil Case was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Case was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

Jacob Christopher Gillis was convicted of rear seat belt violation. Gillis was fined $100.

Malava Nicole Haskins was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Haskins was fined $40 and court costs.

James Thomas Lyons was convicted of possession of open container/consumption of alcohol in passenger area. Lyons was fined $50 and court costs.

Manuel Martinezgarci was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 70 mph zone. Martinezgarci was fined $100 and court costs.

Jason Lee Moore was convicted of failure to wear seat belt-driver. Moore was to pay court costs.

Christopher D. Morgan was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Morgan was fined $40 and court costs.

Mark Ellis Parker was convicted of failure to notify DMV of address change. Parker was fined $50 and court costs.

John Will Picklesimer was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Picklesimer was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours in jail with credit for time served, a $100 fine and court costs.

Jesse Ray Shelton was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Shelton was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation and court costs.

Timothy Michael Thorp was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Thorp was fined $100 and court costs.

POLK COUNTY WEEKLY ARREST REPORT JAN. 8-14

Jan. 11

Keith Lusk, 24, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance. Lusk received $60,000 in bonds.

Damonte Hannon, 22, was arrested and charged with failure to appear on misdemeanor. Hannon received a $200 bond.

Melissa Capps, 39, was arrested and charged with failure to appear on misdemeanor. Capps received a $5,000 bond.

Jan. 12

Marvin McDowell, 31, was arrested and charged with flee/elude arrest with a motor vehicle. McDowell received a $5,000 bond.

Jan. 13

Kaitlyn Nanney, 21, was arrested and charged with no operator’s license. Nanney received a $600 bond.
