Glassy Mountain FD to hold Fire Prevention Month Open House Saturday

Glassy Mountain Fire Department is hosting a fun-filled Fire Prevention Month Open House on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their headquarters at 2015 Hwy. 11, Landrum, S.C., rain or shine.

An abundance of activities and events are planned for all ages including free lunch, fire station tours, fire safety demonstrations, lost child DNA kits and more.

The Blood Connection also will hold a blood drive and all qualified donors will receive a free Clemson or Carolina T-shirt. For more information visit gmfd.net.

The Glassy Mountain Fire Service Area was established in 1987 for the purpose of organizing a volunteer fire department to provide fire/safety protection and a first response emergency unit within the community. The Glassy Mountain Fire Service Area covers nearly 52 square miles with a population of approximately 3,000 residents.
