The Tryon Riding & Hunt Club and the National Steeplechase Association could not have ordered up a more perfect day for the 70^th running of the Block House Steeplechase, held at FENCE Saturday. Creative and whimsical hats were in abundance, the Go To Hell Pants competition engendered much good-natured competition, and Tryon’s equestrian tradition was front and center, from the tailgate spreads to the Mint Julep tent to the pre-race show horse demonstrations.
