What started as a family owned plumbing business has expanded into something Travis Gosnell, service manager for Carruth Plumbing and Home Improvements in Landrum, describes as a “one stop shop for home improvement.”
Although the phrase “home improvement” was added to the company name, Gosnell stated that most people don’t realize the range of projects they can do. They are still viewed, for the most part, as just a plumbing company.
To combat this, Gosnell and business owner Casey Carruth commissioned the construction of the deck leading up to the business, visible to motorists and pedestrians.
The work is being executed at 104 S. Howard Ave. in Landrum, by the intersection of Highways 14 and 176. The building is located adjacent to Carruth Furniture Company. Gosnell feels that the deck will help showcase the abilities of the company.
The crew plans to complete the deck within the next two weeks. Progress on the project continues between jobs and during downtime.
Visual aids, like this deck, are common practice for home and lawn improvement businesses wishing to demonstrate their abilities. This particular one has already begun to bear fruit as Carruth reports that recent projects have been directly attributed to customers seeing the deck and inquiring.
Carruth Plumbing and Home Improvements handles an assortment of residential projects in Western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina including fencing, flooring, painting, siding, window replacement and lighting.
