In preparation for the Budweiser Clydesdale parade today, Landrum is closing parking on Hwy. 14/ Rutherford St. and Trade Street by early afternoon.
Traffic on Hwy. 14/Rutherford St. will close at approximately 5:45 p.m. Trade St. traffic will close at approximately 4 p.m.
“We realize there is a possibility of inclement weather today but we are fairly confident that this will not interfere with the parade,” said Shawn Evans, president of the Landrum Area Business Association.
The parade starts from the Fred’s/Burke’s store, travels east on Hwy. 14/Rutherford St. to the library and then returns back through town a second time.
As a result, all streets will remain closed until the parade completes its return to Fred’s parking lot, with the exception of Hwy. 176 which will open once the parade passes and close as the parade returns, according to Evans.
The parade rolls at 6 p.m.
