Equine travel adventures series at Isothermal

Published 9:31 pm Wednesday, January 21, 2015

This series of four slide presentations is for riders and non-riders

who have wondered what it would be like to race on Boerperd
Horses against wild zebra in South Africa, trot on Icelandic Horses
at the foot of a glacier, gallop on Thoroughbreds across misted
English moors, and climb beyond the snow line in the British
Columbia mountains on Quarter Horses.
During 30 years of riding together, Landrum residents Vince and
Gloria Verrecchio have shared equine adventures on breeds hot
and cold in Africa, Europe, and North America. Vince brings
decades of advertising photography experience and Gloria her
knowledge as an equine rehabilitation veterinarian to add color and
depth to their stories of horses, cultures, places and a cast of riding
characters.

The first “edutainment” presentation features South Africa and
Botswana with two chapters, “Riding with Rhino” and “From
Desert to Delta” and will be held Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. at
the Polk County campus of Isothermal Community College, 1255
West Mills St., Columbus.
