To the editor:

I have just finished reading Ron Mosseller’s delightful book “Funny Things Happen When I look The Other Way.” I read it sparingly because each vignette is worth lingering over. (I also needed time to recover from spasms of uncontrollable laughter.)

In his book, he tells stories of his life as an artist, actor, and raconteur, his extraordinary family, and the places, (Asheville, New York City, and Polk County) in which they made their living and their home.

In the current pre-election atmosphere of political divisiveness and uncivil behavior, it is good to be reminded funny things can and do still happen in our community as long as we have people like Ron Mosseller among us.

Thank you Ronnie for sharing your funny stories and showing that kindness, friendship and humor make life better for all of us.
