Doug Elliott will be the guest speaker at the Tryon Garden Club’s Jan. 15 meeting at the Tryon Depot Room at 22 Depot Street in Tryon at 1 p.m.
The public is welcome to attend “Weeds for your Needs,” a presentation on useful wild plants by Elliott, a storyteller, author of four books and numerous articles, award-winning recording artist and harmonica champion.
Elliott has traveled the continent presenting programs that feature his passion for the natural world.
The Tryon Garden Club’s November speaker, George Ellison, said of Elliott, “There’s not another writer-naturalist who even remotely resembles Doug Elliott. He is the sort of fellow who was identified in the nineteenth century as an original character.”
