Family fun at spring health festival

And in between (9 a.m.-noon), you and your family can enjoy the Health and Information Fair at Stearns Park in downtown Columbus. We are expecting about 30 different community services, agencies and health providers to offer fun and games, kids’ activities and health screenings, even snacks! Children can expect an up close look and hands-on fun with a bounce castle, the fire truck, an ambulance and bookmobile. We expect the kids will enjoy the dental puppet show (10:30 a.m.), the drumming circle, and the chance to practice fire safety with the Sunny View Fire Department’s smoke house!

“Spring Into A Healthy Summer!” is truly a community effort so we invite you to bring the entire family by Stearns Park Saturday morning to kick start Summer 2013. For ideas, support and information to help you get healthy, come on by the fair.

Our community event follows another, the annual Polk Relay for Life. To bring awareness and support for cancer care and research, the relay starts at 6 p.m., Friday, May 31 at Polk County Middle School.
