Participants can choose ONE time that works best, and the trainings occur at Steps to Hope, 60 Walker Street, Columbus, NC. The times and dates are:
• 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15
• 1-4 p.m. Monday, June 17
• 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, June 18
“The team varied the times so people could attend even if they have complex schedules,” Kay said. “The training’s for parents, teachers, politicians, and others who care about kids.”
Registration costs $20, payable to DSS, 231 Wolverine Trail, Mill Spring, NC 28756. To register, people may call Lou Parton at 828 894 2100, or a second registration line, 828 859 3194.
Kay is one of 4,000 Darkness to Light facilitators across forty-nine states and fifteen countries, and all of them are dedicated to reaching and teaching as many people as possible, in order to prevent this crime.
“Every person who receives the training lights the path towards change for the better,” Kay says. “I hope that many adults in Polk County will attend the training that best suits his or her schedule. It’ll take a real revolution of thought to end this crime, but revolutions begin one heart and mind at a time.”
