In “Southern Comfort,” which will be featured in the Upstairs’ small-works gallery, photographer Ben Nixon documents the Southern landscape in a haunting series of photographs. In the downstairs gallery, potters Jim Cullen, Jim Cornell, Gary Huntoon, David Zacharias, Doug Dacey, John Turner and Claude Graves update an age-old medium in an exhibit of ceramic work –”Older Than Dirt.”
A “walk and talk” tour will be offered, free of charge, at 4 p.m. on March 9, before the opening reception. For more information, call 859-2828, go to www.upstairsartspace.org, or visit the gallery at 49 S. Trade St., Tryon. Normal business hours, which resume on March 8, are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
