On Feb 29, Kathy Romich from the Tryon Kiwanis Club gave an update on the new Tryon Kiwanis Aktion Club that is being formed. Her guests for the meeting were Dr. Joann Freeburg and Julie Grigg (Synergy in Action), Colleen Jewel (Polk Vocational Services) and Heatherly McGarity (LaureHurst). McGarity is also a member of Tryon Kiwanis. Another co-sponsor of Aktion Club is Russell Wilson, Main Street Financial. Aktion Club is open to all adults living with disabilities and provides the opportunity to give back to the community while learning how to be good leaders.
