Therapeutic Riding of Tryon (TROT), the horseback riding program for special needs children and adults at FENCE, will hold a horse show for its riders on Saturday, Dec. 3 starting at 9 a.m. at the FENCE show grounds.
Riders have been practicing their equitation skills during fall lessons, which ended this month, and will compete in December in classes for basic equitation, a ground pole course and a trail riding obstacle course.
The public is invited to cheer on riders from Polk, Rutherford, Henderson, Greenville and Spartanburg counties.
TROT is a 7-year-old therapeutic riding program recognized as a Premier Accredited Center by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) International. Volunteers are always needed to help staff the two, 10-week lesson blocks offered each year.
Those interested should email therapeuticriding@fence.org to sign up for the next volunteer training class to be offered in late winter.
