Our area is bursting into color. Fiery reds and vivid tangerines seem to pop up before your eyes every day, and this means more and more visitors traveling here to experience the beauty of the mountains in the fall.
Today, and over the next four Friday issues of the Bulletin, we want to help you Discover Our Foothills.
The center eight pages of this week’s edition can easily be pulled out of the paper to use as a guide for points of interest in the community. This week we focus on giving you a glimpse into the history of our area.
While there are more stories than we can possibly tell about the rich heritage nestled in the hills and valleys of Polk County and the Upstate, we believe the best thing we can do is direct you to the sources.
Inside this special, pull-out section you’ll find a list of locations on the National Registry of Historic Places, you’ll find information on key points of interest and you’ll get a glimpse at the exciting events right around the corner.
Hopefully this section will help you plan your next weekend in our lovely foothills. Or, if you already live here, maybe this section will give you exciting ideas for places to take visiting family and friends as you show them what you feel truly makes this community a great place to live.
