N.C. Governor Perdue honors Polk, other area Boy Scouts on their 100th anniversary

N.C. Gov. Bev Perdue honored Boy Scouts of the Piedmont Council on Monday, February 8. That day marked the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts and was celebrated around the country, including in Raleigh where Boy Scouts met with Gov. Perdue and First Gentleman Bob Eaves to present their community service plans for the coming year.
The Piedmont Council includes Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, McDowell, Polk, and Rutherford counties.
Congratulations to the Boy Scouts on their 100th anniversary, said Gov. Perdue. Im especially proud of their commitment to community service. During these tough times its more important than ever to give back to the community and the Boy Scouts are a shining example.
