A Mill Spring log home was burned in a fire reported around 1 p.m. Wednesday at 391 Fire Tower Road. No one was home at the time of the fire and the cause is still under investigation.

The Mill Spring Fire Department was assisted by departments from Columbus, Tryon, Green Creek, Sunny View and New Prospect, and by the Polk County Sheriff&squo;s office, Polk County EMS and the Polk County Red Cross chapter.

Fire crews returned to quarters at about 6 p.m. Wednesday.
