Landrum to host kick off event to update comprehensive plan

The Town of Landrum’s comprehensive plan update public kick-off event will be held Thursday, Feb. 18, from 5:30 – 8 p.m. at Landrum Middle School, 104 Redland Rd., Landrum, S.C.

The Town of Landrum is set to launch “Envision Landrum: Your Dream is Our Future,” an initiative that will update the town’s comprehensive plan. Upstate Forever is playing a strong supporting role and bringing additional resources to the project as part of a “Community Design and Planning for Active, Healthy Communities” grant from the Mary Black Foundation in Spartanburg County.

The comprehensive plan is a legal document that the mayor and town council use to guide decisions, set priority policies and implement public projects for the foreseeable future.

A critical aspect of the comprehensive planning process is to gather input from the community on key topics. Event participants will have the opportunity to help inform the development of a vision for the town’s future, as well as how the town will work to achieve that vision over the next ten years.

If you live in the Landrum area please participate and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.
