Local civil air patrol cadets participate in training weekend

Recently, the Spartanburg Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol participated in a statewide Cadet Training Weekend at Fort Jackson, to increase leadership training for their cadets.

A vanload of eight cadets and one senior member arrived at the training activity. They all served and trained in a variety of categories: event staff, the advanced training group, and the basic training groups.

The United States Air Force Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol, is a nationwide organization with three missions: the Cadet Programs, Aerospace Education, and Emergency Services.

The Spartanburg Composite Squadron hosts meetings every Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. inside the Spartanburg Downtown Memorial Airport. The squadron has access to a Cessna 182 and Blanik L-23 glider.

The unit is always looking to expand in numbers to provide as many exciting opportunities to the community as they can!  More details are available online: http://spartanburgcap.wix.com/mersc090#!about1/c4q8.
