History program at Landrum Library Feb. 17

The Landrum Library will host a presentation on Thursday, Feb. 17 beginning at 6:30 p.m. of “The Fabled History of Hogback Mountain and the Greenville County Watershed.”
In this program you will learn the history of the area and view photos of Hogback Mountain, a WWI artillery range, a mountaintop country club from the Roaring Twenties and the creation of the Greenville Watershed.
Hogback Mountain and the Greenville Watershed are located in northern Greenville County. The history of the area is a long one involving native populations, war and preservation.
Presenters are Jim Stehlik and from the Nature Conservancy and Kristen Austin. A DVD presentation will feature Chief Attakullakulla of the Cherokee Nation and Lt. Kenneth Gow of the 27th Division of NY National Guard.
Join the library for a continuation of presentations on local history. This program is free and open to the public.
