Polk sheriff’s office arrests three men for B&E, larceny

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested three men this week suspected of breaking into Manuel Wood Workers Transportation.
Andrew Steven McDowell, 22, of 260 East McGuinn Drive, Mill Spring; Randy William Nelon II, 21, of 1778 Owl Hollow Road, Mill Spring and Brandon Clarence Burgess, 21, of 2638 Hwy. 9 North, Mill Spring were arrested and charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and damage to property, according to sheriff’s office reports.
Investigator Chuck Hitch said around 9 p.m. on Jan. 17, the suspects allegedly went to the grading/landscaping business on A.R. Thompson Road in Mill Spring and stole several tools, including two drills, three grinders, one band saw, one sledge hammer, four weed eaters and one tool box with miscellaneous tools. The items were taken from a vehicle, barn and storage trailer on the property, according to Hitch.
Hitch said two of the suspects, McDowell and Nelon, are former employees of the business. All stolen property has been recovered and returned to the owner.
All three suspects were arrested on Jan. 18 and were released on $4,000 bonds.
