Polk County residents who have not yet registered to vote and want to vote on general election day, Nov. 2, have until tomorrow at 5 p.m. to register.

If you choose to vote during the early voting period that begins next week, you will still be able to register when you vote; tomorrow’s deadline is only for those who want to vote on Nov. 2.

Voter registration forms must be postmarked or delivered in person by 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8 for persons to be eligible to vote on election day.

Residents can register to vote at the Polk County Board of Elections Office, 40 Courthouse Street, Columbus.
