Justin Covil and Lynn and Branden Jones of Saluda are among 15 new North Carolina wildlife officers. The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission welcomed the new officers into the ranks of the Division of Law Enforcement, with the mission to enforce game, fish and boating laws and to protect the resources of the state and the safety of its citizens. Recruits undergo a demanding basic training of 19 weeks or more than 800 hours. Upon completion of six months of on-the-job training, officers will receive a permanent duty station assignment.
