Polk boys first in four events at WHKP Relays

North Henderson High hosted the 49th Annual WHKP Relays March 31 and April 1, 2010.
The womens Relays took place on Wednesday followed by the mens on Thursday. The WHKP is a relay-only meet meaning all events are a combined team score.
Polk Senior Maggie Conner tied the school record in Womens High Jump with a leap of 52″. Seniors John Spencer Wolfe, Ethan Rhodes, Valentin Santos and Sophomore Andy Conner ran 3:30.76 in the 4×400 Meter Relay to break the school record in the event.
The following competed for the Lady Wolverines: 4×800 Meter Relay (Haley Hendrix, Anna Koenig, Maggie Phipps, Paige Peters) 12:54; 4×200 Meter Relay (Tori Madigan, Julia Collins, Savanna Deaver, Jamie Miller) 2:03; 4×100 Meter Relay (Madigan, Asia Miller, Aliyah Mullins, Ashley Kershaw) 55.94; 4×400 Meter Relay (Conner, Phipps, Mary Kate Christiansen, Rebecca Elliott) 4:27; Shot Put Relay (Latoya Twitty 295.5″, Jonai Dawkins 271.5″, Meagan McCarty 21); Discus Relay (Dawkins 642″, McCarty 5611″, Cassie Silvers 502″); Long Jump Relay (Twitty 152.5″, Miller 133″, Collins 1110.25″); Triple Jump Relay (Twitty 3211″, Miller 279″, Mullins 20.75″); High Jump Relay (Conner 52″, Amanda DeFisher 410″, Sara Weihart 4); Pole Vault Relay (A. DeFisher 8, Savana Mitchell 76″, Skyelar DeFisher 7). Polk took 4th in the 800 Meter Sprint Medley 2:02; 3rd in the 1600 Sprint Medley 4:56, and 5th in the 4×100 Meter Hurdle Shuttle.
The following competed for the Wolverines: 4×800 Meter Relay (Are Farstad, Flynn Chapman, Andy Conner, Robby Franklin) 9:23; 4×200 Meter Relay (Zach Bright, Trey Couch, V. Santos, Seth McCool); 4×100 Meter Relay (Bright, Hugo Santos, Cary Littlejohn, Bryan Lieberman) 48.34; Shot Put Relay (McCool 41.5″, Markece Cunningham 4010″, Tanner Ramsey 408.5″) 1st place; Discus Relay (Cunningham 1041″, Michael Bell 989″, Jay Sutton 97); Long Jump Relay (Rhodes 196.5″, Conner 178″, Lieberman 176″); Triple Jump (Kayce Martin 372″, Trey Couch 336″, Jalon Twitty 332″), High Jump (Parrish Gary 510″, Littlejohn 58″, Tyler Hansen 52″); Pole Vault Relay (Lieberman 12, Ricky Mozquedo 86″, Rhodes 8). Polks 800 Meter Sprint Medley (1:37) and the 1600 Meter Sprint Medley (3:49) both finished in 1st place.
Polk took 7th in the Distance Medley, and 6th in the 4×100 Meter Hurdle Shuttle. Both teams finished 3rd overall.
The womens team scores: TC Roberson 134, AC Reynolds 82, Polk 60, Franklin 58, Hendersonville 36, Asheville 35, North Henderson 33, Madison 12, Enka 9.
