Tryon Gallery Trot this Saturday

The Upstairs Artspace will feature three exhibits all opening during this weekend’s gallery Trot: “Curvature and Color,” with artists Kenn Kotara and Dale McEntir; “Carolina the Beautiful”a photographic show featuring Chris Bartol, Jeff Miller, John Morre, Mark Olenski, Norm Powers, John Smith and Rimas Zaliskas, focusing on local scenic views; and “Cassie Ryalls: New Work.”
Kathleen’s Gallery follows with two opening exhibits, “Burnsville Potter-Claudia Dunaway” and “Real and Faux-Teddy Bears by Linda Boiter.” Boiter will be on hand to answer questions about her work.
Skyuka Fine Art continues its current exhibit of “Women of Western North Carolina,” featuring the works of Linda Cheek, Sheila Wood-Hancock and Kelly Phipps. Artist and owner Richard Christian Nelson will do a live demonstration of a charcoal portrait. Nelson will discuss his technique and give some insight into this medium’s way of capturing the subject. Green River Gallery greets Trotters with original artwork, as well as giclee reproductions. Vines and Stuff continually features pottery by local artists. Kiveo rotates their expansive wall space with local artists’ work as well. Tryon Painters and Sculptors will be hosting late hours in their new space on Maple St. Their current exhibit will be a members’ show featuring both paintings and sculptures.
