John Moore, a Republican, has announced he will run for S.C. House District 38, becoming the second person to challenge incumbent Joey Millwood. Moore, a businessman from the Lake Bowen area, made his announcement Thursday at Blue Ridge Log Cabins manufacturing facility in Campobello. He joins former Landrum mayor Doug Brannon as the second person to challenge Millwood, who is in his first term after defeating longtime incumbent Bob Walker in 2008. Moore is a graduate of Spartanburg High (2000) and Wofford College (2004). He was president of JWA Properties LLC before founding Moore Capital, LLC in 2008.
