The event for the day at the Tryon Country Club for the Tryon Women’s Golf Association on Aug. 2 was Low Gross, Low Net, and Low Putts. The winners were:
18 holes: Joyce Arledge – 95 (Low Gross) and 29 (LowPutts)
Peggy Henson – 79 (Low Net)
9 holes: “A” Flight – June Current – 42 (Low Net); Margaret Wheat – 57 (Low Gross and Low Putts). “B” Flight – Caroline Brown – 36 (Low Net); Ann Gargiulo – 16 (Low Putts)
On Aug. 9, the event will be low putts and closest to the pin on No.9. Starting time for both 18 -holers and nine-holers will be at 8 a.m. Be sure to call or sign up at the pro shop.
