COLUMBUS— Polk County Parks & Recreation has announced the hiring of Holly Williams as its new recreation coordinator.
Williams holds a degree in Community and Commercial Recreation from Wingate University and brings six years of summer camp experience to the role. Her background in program planning and community engagement will help shape recreational offerings for residents across the county.
“My goal is to provide and maintain optimum recreational opportunities for all citizens of Polk County,” Williams said.
She will oversee key facilities, including Stearns Gym, Gibson Park and pool in Columbus, and the Searcy Park and Recreation Complex in Mill Spring.
Williams is also looking forward to the grand opening of the Little White Oak Mountain trails, set for June 28 from 9 a.m. to noon.
“I am thrilled to connect people with nature and develop spaces where both residents and visitors can explore, play, and thrive,” she said.
The family-friendly event will highlight the new trails and Polk County’s commitment to outdoor recreation.
