Polk County Sheriff’s Office to host fun-filled week for school-aged children
POLK COUNTY—The Polk County Sheriff’s Office recently announced that it would once again host the Kidz n’ Cops Summer Kickoff Camp for children ages nine through 18.
The camp will provide children with the opportunity to have one-on-one interactions with local heroes and learn about the resources available to them.
A fun-filled week is planned for campers, including activities such as water inflatables, fishing, and swimming at the Isothermal Community College Pool. Additionally, the camp will feature a First Responders Day, where campers will learn what it takes to be the first on the scene when it matters the most. Children will see the everyday routine of officers, experience the cruisers that keep their county safe and may even get to sound the siren of their favorite officer’s vehicle.
Applications to register for the event can be picked up through your child’s school resource officer or at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
The Kidz n’ Cops Summer Kickoff Camp will run from Tuesday, May 27, to Friday, May 30, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office is located at 164 Government Complex Dr. in Columbus.
