LANDRUM—At the Spartanburg One Board of Trustees meeting on April 21, the board announced unanimous approval of the appointment of Ashley Foster as the new principal of O.P. Earle Elementary School.
With nearly 20 years of dedicated service in education, all within the Spartanburg One district, Foster has a proven track record of excellence. Most recently, she has been the assistant principal at O.P. Earle since 2021. Her career also includes roles at Inman Elementary, where she served as a classroom teacher, grade-level leader, and safety team lead, demonstrating her commitment to early childhood education. A highlight of her tenure at Inman was being named Teacher of the Year for the 2018-2019 school year.
Foster holds a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Converse College and a degree in Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University. Her educational philosophy emphasizes the importance of strong relationships and creating a supportive environment where every child feels valued and seen.
“I am truly honored to serve as the next principal of O.P. Earle Elementary,” said Foster. “This school holds a special place in my heart, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside our dedicated staff, students, families, and community to provide a safe, nurturing, and inspiring learning environment.”
Community ties run deep for the Foster family, as Ashley and her husband, Dell, both contribute to the Spartanburg One district. They are proud parents to their daughter, Charlee Ruth, reflecting their shared commitment to education and community involvement.
Foster takes the helm following Brian Murray, who is set to retire at the end of the 2024-2025 school year.
