This year, residents and visitors alike are invited to roll up their sleeves and grab some trash bags as they work to make Downtown Tryon sparkle.

“TDDA is leading the way with volunteers to clean up downtown Tryon along Trade, Depot, and Pacolet Street,” said TDDA Director Lourdes Gutierrez. “We feel it’s a great way to give back and take pride in our community. What better way to celebrate Earth Day.”

Participants in the cleanup will enjoy a complimentary box lunch picnic provided in the plaza after the event.

Established in 1970 to demonstrate support for environmental protection, Earth Day has grown to engage an estimated 1 billion people across more than 193 countries, all advocating for a cleaner planet.
