Staton, Lewis earn All-WNC recognition

A pair of Polk County players have earned All-Western North Carolina recognition from the Citizen-Times in Asheville.

Junior guard Bailey Staton was named to the All-WNC second team while senior forward Kylie Lewis received third-team recognition.

Polk County, which finished 23-2, joined Cherokee and McDowell as schools with multiple All-WNC selections.

Cherokee’s Dvdaya Swimmer was named the All-WNC Player of the Year while McDowell’s Zack McCartha was named the All-WNC Coach of the Year.
